Resolution

Maybe it's the time of year, maybe it's because I just got back from a skiing trip and enjoyed the fresh air and cardio but either way I've been inspired to try incorporating more activity into my routine. Confession: I haven't really been doing much of anything (besides walking) since the summer, and it has officially taken it's toll. Extra chocolate, alcohol, and eating out have certainly helped that along as well :S

I considered joining a gym (again), but decided not to. It would be $50/month and judging by my last membership, it would be a waste of money 3-6 months later when I know I'll stop going...

Running outside is an option considering it's been so mild lately, but I've never been able to keep it up for more than a month. I don't think I'm a natural runner, not to mention the shin splints/twisted ankles/back pain that sometimes accompanies running.

So, since I LOVE dancing and I did well with the Jillian Michaels 30-day shred dvd, I've decided to try out the Zumba workout series. Zumba incorporates cardio and strength training via fun dance routines. The music is a lot of fun and I think this would keep me motivated and almost trick me into working out. That's my theory anyway. Have any of you heard of Zumba or tried it out?

Putting aside their godawful outfits, I think it looks like a lot of fun! Obviously doing these dance workouts alone won't give me the same buff bodies as the instructors in the video (they clearly do other forms of exercise) but I figure it's better then being sedentary, and why not have some fun too?

My only question about it is how much dance space you need..? My living room is small so I'm worried I'll plow into furniture. I've been trying to see previews via YouTube and it seems pretty flexible, so I'm guessing I'd be ok and can spread out as much as I have the space for.

I plan on asking for the disc set for my birthday (coming up in a month), so I'll let you know how it goes in February at some point. In the mean time, let me know if you know anything about this workout style!

GOOD BUY!

The Joe Fresh makeup line is amazing..That's a sweeping statement considering I haven't tried everything. But so far, so good! The price, packaging, and most importantly, products are really excellent.

Specifically, the lipbalm and cream blushes should be on your shopping list the next time you hit up the grocery store.

Cream Blush $8
(lasts on your cheeks FOREVER..so pigmented! I have the shade "melon", not pictured below)

Tinted Lipbalm $8 (I have the shade 'honey', really pretty nude colour)
Adds highgloss and moisture to your lips without drying or caking
